Staking

Locking up $TALOS does three things at once: pays you USDC, hands you free credits every day and, if you run a node, pays that node more.

What a lock gets you

  • USDC rewards: your cut of the staker-rewards half of the treasury.
  • Free daily credits: drawn before anything you've paid for.
  • A bigger node cut: operators past the threshold earn more per job.

Set it up from the staking screen in the app. Your $TALOS sits in your own on-chain vault the whole time. Nobody but you can unlock or claim it.

How it works

  • Lock any amount of $TALOS from the staking screen.
  • A deposit ages 48 hours before it counts toward rewards or any perk. This stops someone from locking up right before a payout just to catch it. Each deposit ages on its own clock.
  • You can unlock at any time. A full withdrawal is always allowed; partial unlocks have a small minimum. Unlocking pulls your newest deposits first, so your matured stake keeps earning.

USDC rewards

45% of network revenue is paid to stakers in USDC, once a day at 18:00 UTC.

  • Split across everyone staking, proportional to matured stake.
  • Paid straight to your on-chain reward vault: claim any time.
  • Watch the pool fill and pay out live on the network dashboard.

Auto-compound

Optional, off by default. Turn it on and your daily USDC reward buys $TALOS on the open market and locks it straight back into your own vault. The newly compounded amount ages the usual 48 hours before it starts earning, like any deposit. If a swap ever fails, that day's reward just lands as plain USDC instead. Nobody but you can ever pull from your vault.

Stake to use: free daily credits

Locking $TALOS also hands you free credits every day, the same credits that pay for inference. Each day the network sets aside a pool of free credits for stakers; your share is proportional to your matured stake divided by everyone's matured stake, times the pool. Your prompts draw from these first, before anything you've paid for.

  • Refreshes daily at 04:00 UTC: unused allowance doesn't carry over.
  • Active stakers only: you need a request in the last 7 days to qualify, so the perk goes to people actually using the network.
  • Same 48-hour maturity as rewards.
  • The pool is a fixed size, so the perk scales with the network instead of draining the treasury.
Note
Your remaining allowance shows up on the staking screen and next to your credit balance in the app.

Node boost

Node operators who lock at least 250,000 $TALOS (held 48h) earn a higher revenue share on every job: 82% instead of 72%. Running a node and staking pays twice: the staker rewards, plus a bigger cut of every job. See the node guide to start earning.
